Grand Opening - Container Maintenance opens new $3.5M expansion
Aug 20, 2013, 6:09am CDT

Staff Memphis Business Journal
Container Maintenance Corporation welcomed Memphis mayor A C Wharton and Shelby County mayor Mark Luttrell to a grand opening Monday.

The new $3.5 million maintenance shop and intermodal yard in Southeast Memphis was approved for a PILOT by EDGE in February.

When South Carolina-based Container Maintenance applied for the PILOT, it claimed that it would increase its Memphis employee count from 12 to 106 with the new expansion.

In February, Marino said when the expansion was completed, Memphis would be the second largest location the company has. "Memphis leadership is leveraging its combination of air, rail, land and water shipping to continue explosive intermodal growth," said Vince Marino, CEO of the Marino Group in a news release. "Our new yard and repair shop positions us to be competitive in one of the fastest growing logistics hubs in the US. We will continue our focus on customer service through expansion with skilled labor and training. This new depot begins a very exciting chapter for our customers and team."
